In our context of hyper-growth at Spendesk, we have big ambitions in terms of product vision and in order to achieve it, we want to double the Engineering team by the end of 2022, which will lead to tons of opportunities for everyone!
As part of the core product tribe, you will contribute in the future phases of Spendesk by leading a squad of 4 to 6 engineers (frontend, backend, full-stack) focused on key areas of our product: Spending flows and Finance flows.
As the team lead of your squad, you will work on the scalability, reliability and quality of our critical flows, introducing a robust architecture pattern, splitting our monolith codebase into isolated services and enforcing good coding and testing practices(e)You will overview technical decisions, build the technical roadmap and work closely with the product team and designers.
As a people manager, you will onboard and mentor engineers of your squad and ensure they operate in a healthy environment while growing technically and personally(e)You will also actively participate in the hiring of new engineers(e)We expect you to divide your time 50/50 between people management and technical responsibilities.
Our stack is mainly composed of Node, React, TypeScript, MySQL & PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS (SQS, S3, Glacier, etc.), Terraform & Kubernetes, and GitHub (even for the CI).
Key responsibilities:
- Be the main point of contact for other squads and for the product team
- Ensure the quality of the delivery of your squad
- Review PRs and designs, overview technical decisions
- Lead by example by implementing technical guidelines and robust architecture pattern
- Define and communicate on SMART objectives
- Take care of the well-being of your squad members (mentoring, 1-1, career growth, team-building etc.)
- Be actively involved in the hiring process
What we are looking for:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of software development experience
- You have experience in managing and mentoring engineers
- You have a strong knowledge of robust and scalable architecture pattern
- You have strong communication skills
- You are comfortable working on large projects and fast-paced environment
- You are proactive and naturally suggest solution for problems you identify
