YOUR ROLE
- Manage your squad within the data organization
- Mentor and grow the software engineers in your squad
- Participate in code reviews frequently and provide technical direction to the engineers
- Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast paced environment
- Be responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of complex technical products
- Scale the squad, processes and architecture that propels business growth.
- Be data driven and build the right frameworks within the organization to measure and deliver results against the objectives
- Collaborate with product management to ensure alignment between product and technical strategy
YOUR TOOLKIT
We work with modern technologies and always encourage our team to explore what’s new in the market.
Our main tools are:
- C#, Python in the Backend
- React/ Redux (es6) and Less in the Frontend
- SQL Server and Elasticsearch in the data layer
- A continuous delivery pipeline that uses Git, Nunit, Teamcity and Octopus Deploy
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have a minimum 4 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience as a manager of software engineers
- Managing experienced people or tech leads would be strongly appreciated!
- You have experience with large scale system design
- You have experience working with agile methodologies
- You have cross functional collaboration skills
- You have experience in hiring software engineers
- You are well versed in devops methodologies and tools
- You are proactive and take ownership of your work
- You often come up with new ideas to solve complex problems, and know how to get your teammates behind them
- You want your work to have an impact: rather than a cog, you see yourself as the engine
- You are comfortable dealing with the pressure of delivering an excellent service to our customers
- You can communicate clearly in English
