To accelerate our Everyday AI mission, Dataiku’s Business Solutions team is in charge of creating a full range of solutions aiming at easing delivery of key use-cases by our customers.
Dataiku is looking for a Solution Data Scientist Director to manage our team of Solution Data Scientists(e)In this role, the Solution Data Scientist Director will be in charge of (1) providing advanced project and technical oversight to all data science projects developed as part of the Business Solutions initiative, (2) developing a strong win-win relationship with Dataiku’s entire data science community and (3) steering the team of Solution Data Scientists with the objective of allowing all team members to continuously grow and perform in their roles(e)The Solution Data Scientist Director will be a key lead in guaranteeing the quality and impact of our growing range of Solutions as well as in ensuring excellence in delivery(e)This mission will be run with supervision of the VP for Solutions Engineering and in tight partnership with the rest of the Business Solutions team, and all other Dataiku divisions, including Data Fab, Product and R&D.
What you’ll do:
- Provide active guidance and technical oversight to all data science projects developed as part of the Business Solutions initiative(e)
- Ensure systematic integration of responsible AI and governance principles as appropriate. Support project scoping, business problem statement, identification of best technical approaches and most effective use of Dataiku.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and on scope.
- Ensuring the coaching of all Dataiku data scientists (Solutions Data Scientists part of Business Solutions and others, part of Dataiku Data Fab) taking ownership of solutions-related projects.
- Develop a technical upskilling roadmap for the Business Solutions team both from a data science and from an engineering standpoint.
- Create strong processes to ensure the work of the team is well organized and structured, that developments are capitalized and composable, and that all resulting learnings are fuelled back into our roadmap.
- Develop a strong roadmap on Solutions Engineering jointly with the Senior Product Manager and the VP of Solutions Engineering and support its implementation
- Actively contribute to the development of our Business Solutions offer and its operational development: pricing, time tracking, billing.
- Own projects end-to-end as needed: scoping, building of flows, documentation, release, ...
- Act as the central representative of Business Solutions for Data Fab team members.
- Build strong relationship with Data Fab leadership, supporting notably capturing of most common field requests, development of solutions based on successful projects, encouraging leverage of Business Solutions by Data Fab, fuelling of our solution enhancement roadmaps, and more.
- Manage the global team of Solutions Data Scientists (from 4 to 9 by year end)(e)Provide the right mix of guidance and mentorship to team members, support their growth and evolution across all dimensions.
- Smoothly handle recruitment and on-boarding of a global distributed team(e)
- Act as a senior team member within the Dataiku Business Solutions group, supporting decision making and efficient implementation. Own key transversal projects as required(e)Support maximisation of the impact of the Business Solutions initiative across Dataiku.

Who you are:
- 8+ year experience maximising strong expertise in data science, team management of data scientists or data analysts, and actual end-to-end delivery.
- Strong curiosity for a variety of domain expertise and business team needs understanding. A personal expertise in a specific domain will be a plus.
- Proven track record of scoping and managing data-science projects in an autonomous manner.
- Ability to manage a global, distributed team with multiple stakeholders(e)Able to manage both junior and senior team members(e)Strong communication skills, with capacity to adapt level of technicity and speech to a wide range of audience.
- Appetite for making internal processes work and for helping rapid scaling(e)Process oriented, pragmatic, able to make change happen in a smooth way.
- Empathy for others and an eagerness to share your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues, Dataiku’s customers, and the general public.
- Passionate for data science use-case packaging and to gradually make our solutions evolve from templates to engineered use-cases: keen to turn outcomes into easy to understand visualizations, explore integrations with other tools, build reusable building blocks, mindful of production constraints,...
- 5+ years of experience with R or Python
- 5+ years of experience with modern AI/ML algorithms and proven experience deploying models in production to meet business objectives
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and design teams
- Based in Paris or London, able to travel
