Founded in 2017, Ovrsea is a new generation freight forwarder and uses technology to simplify and optimize international freight(e)We work with more than 600 companies like Engie, Vinci, Devialet, Sézane or Nuxe in more than 60 countries.
We allow our customers to manage their shipments in a few clicks from our web application, from quote request to invoicing, including automatic cargo tracking(e)We have also developed an internal application to facilitate the management of shipments by our operational staff.

💻 The tech team
The tech team develops two main products: Hermes, to allow customers to order and track their shipments, and Atlas, to let Ovrsea organise them.
Most work is focused on Atlas: it is a revolutionary Transport Management System, which allows us to organise all types of shipments worldwide(e)Since it is an internal product, it allows us to iterate much faster (10 to 20 deployments per day), to test many things and to directly see our work impact(e)
The team is composed of 4 squads of 2 to 4 Software Engineers + 1 Product Manager(e)Each squad is focused on a business topic: automatic pricing, sales activation, stock vision...

What is a Software Engineer Team Lead at OVRSEA ?
The Software Engineer Team Lead will be in charge of a squad (2 - 4 Software Engineers + 1 Product Manager)(e)His/her goal will be to guarantee the quality of the work delivered by his/her team and to promote the professional development of each Software Engineer.
💪 Responsibilities
Management (40%) :
- Maintain a high level of code quality while ensuring timely delivery
- Challenge product specifications
- Manage the workload of the Software Engineers in the team
- Ensure their progress and development
- Encourage the emergence of vocations and specialisations within the team
- Detect and anticipate organisational and technical problems and propose solutions
Individual contribution (60%) :
- Take charge of certain epics and features & engineering projects
🚧 Our current topics
- Improving DX through the Design System and splitting the monolith into different Bounded Contexts
- Increasing team confidence by improving our use of Jest, ESLint, Cypress or Storybook for example
- Implementing DORA metrics to monitor our delivery performance and to guide our improvement efforts
- Improving the skills of every team member on more and more complex craft topics (hexagonal architecture, DDD, inversion of control...)

Your technical skills :
- You have at least 3 years experience as a Software Engineer
- A mastery of good dev practices (readability, tests, decoupling, feedback loop...)
- A good knowledge of our stack (Typescript, React, Node, GraphQL)

- Humble, to quickly adapt to an ever-evolving tech world as well as to assimilate the specificities of the transport world
