Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Operations Manager leads Talend’s tax operations globally and is responsible for the timely filing of the organization’s direct, indirect and property tax filings, tax calculations, tax reconciliations and indirect tax and transfer pricing automation(e)This role proactively pursues and leads opportunities to improve the cost-efficiency by managing, or supporting, tax colleagues standardizing the tax processes and by automating the tax operations processes.
 
This individual must have a strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax compliance requirements, be knowledgeable about the income tax provisioning, as well as a good understanding of the metrics that C-level executives use to measure the compliance and cost-efficiency of tax operations, and how to communicate that through the tax function dashboard.

What you'll be working on.....

  • Manage tax compliance for US and non-US entities, including direct, indirect, and other taxes.
  • Prepare, review and/or manage the tax provisioning for US and non-US entities(e)
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the cost-efficiency of tax operations.
  • Manage and/or support the tax colleagues standardizing the tax processes.
  • Identify and manage the automation the tax operations processes.
  • Review and/or prepare the quarterly intercompany calculations and coordinate with Controllership so the required journal entries are timely performed by the accounting team
  • Coordinate the gathering of the needed information for the calculations and the transfer pricing documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate of tax financial statement internal controls processes, including monitoring, assessing, measuring, and documenting uncertain tax positions.
  • Oversee and manage tax provision systems, including identifying process & efficiency recommendations(e)
  • Collaborate with other functional areas as a subject matter expert on tax compliance.
  • Monitor global tax developments and analyze the potential impacts on the Company.
  • Other special compliance/provision related projects.

Who are you?.....

  • Strong understanding of tax operations and tax risk environment, and the ability to effectively communicate tax alternatives and tax risks
  • Good understanding of U.S(e)GAAP and of internal procedures and controls
  • The ability to operate independently, make decisions and thrive on execution; and, to work cooperatively across global, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict filing deadlines

What are your qualifications?.....

  • 6+ years' experience in managing tax operations, preferably in several jurisdictions
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing direct and indirect taxes
  • Bachelors in Accounting is required; having or actively pursuing your CPA would be a plus
  • Proficient with Avalara, MS Office, MS Excel and NetSuite environment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; multiple language ability an advantage
  • Experience partnering with finance and accounting to deliver insightful information
  • Experience at global company with significant international operations preferred
  • Experience with SaaS or Software company preferred
Although the posting says France, this role can be based anywhere in the EMEA.
