ABOUT THE ROLE
Interstellar Lab is seeking a highly experienced Structural Assembly Technician to join the team. You will build, test, and deliver our terrestrial, low Earth orbit, and lunar products with a small team of dedicated technicians and engineers who take great pride in their work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble large-scale structures by drilling, filing, filling, reaming, countersinking, burring, and fastening using various hand tools as well as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Skilled in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices.
- Able to inspect assemblies, component parts, and product structures for nonconformance.
- Report discrepancies to manufacturing self-examination (MSE), corrective action (C/A), or manufacturing supervision.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and written and verbal instructions.
- Use computer systems for office and shop applications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School diploma.
- 7+ years of field experience in assembly; aerospace experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other system diagrams.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and operate cranes or forklifts for heavier loads.
- Project planning, schedule, and cost estimation.
- Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures.
- Experience using power tools in a professional capacity.
- Good command of technical English.
- Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations.
BONUS:
- Associates/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
