Job Description/Responsibilities

You will play an integral role in designing and implementing Brand, Social & Community strategies and tactics in the UK and the NORDIC (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) markets to drive / sustain interest and awareness in Tencent titles(e)A core aspect of the role is to lead & execute the local UK+NORDIC Brand, Social & Community strategies for some of Tencent’s Key Gaming IPs such as Synced: Off-Planet among others(e)You will report into the Western European regional Product Marketing team lead as well as lead local agencies to ensure a balanced focus on day-to-day activation as well as on developing original, innovative campaign ideas with your colleagues and team lead appropriate to each title(e)Essential to this role will be the establishment & fulfillment of clear campaign KPIs in close coordination with the team lead and with supporting rationale / benchmarks and ensuring local campaign progress is reported in a consistent and timely manner(e)A flexible approach will often be required to support Brand, Social and Community strategies for multiple titles. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • This position, as part of the SOP (Synced: Off-Planet) Western European region publishing team, will create/manage/organize the UK+NORDIC eco-system "community"(e)This is including the official brand & community management as well as the management of our official social media platforms(e)You will manage community content in the areas of marketing promotion, community growth and game operation(e)You will therefore...
  • Formulate and implement winning local Brand, Social and Community strategies for Tencent's titles, creating brand activities that generate awareness & excitement amongst consumers. 
  • Support development of local Brand, Social & Community strategies and key consumer programs, working together with the Product Marketing Manger Western Europe and relevant regional central functions as well as external local agency partners.
  • Manage and monitor official local game channels.
  • Monitor trending content in the UK+NORDIC markets, promptly respond to hot topics and trends in the current West Europe market, adjust strategy and produce pan-entertainment activities accordingly.
  • Develop and manage an overall plan and direction for brand, social and community KPIs, content and monitor the public opinion feedback and data fluctuations within the UK+NORDIC communities(e)Monitor social media updates from competing games and provide suggestions accordingly.
  • Identify and deliver localized content opportunities according to holidays, festivals, or cultural preference for the UK+NORDIC communities.
  • Create & host community events such as lucky draws and tournaments.
  • Collaborate with regional team members and agencies to design and implement original local campaign approaches relevant to the UK+NORDIC market.
  • Collaborate with external partner brands in close alignment with internal teams to create and implement locally engaging programs aligned to strategic comms priorities on each title.
  • Collaborate with regional team members & local agency partners to ensure effective campaign performance KPIs are calibrated and reported against throughout entire campaign lifecycle.
  • Allocate, track and report local Marketing budgets.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and ROI using a combination of reporting tools.
  • Identify best practice for comms within the video game industry (and broader digital entertainment sectors) and share across all teams to help drive organisational learning and development.
  • Directly responsible for outreach to and management of top tier influencers in the UK+NORDIC markets, building and managing relationships with the influencers via on-going communication.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree or above(e)Native English speaker.
  • At least 3-5 years experience running branded campaigns on major content & media platforms, especially YouTube and TikTok is preferred(e)You will also be in charge of program deployment on platforms like Discord and Twitch.
  • Thorough understanding of Western Europe's players(e)You are also an expert on UK market trends, you know the pop-culture/entertainment/geek/internet market in the UK in order to build local content(e)Additional knowledge of Swedish, Danish, Norwegian or Finnish player culture is a plus.
  • Experience in video game marketing is preferable, ideally with an understanding of F2P and GAAS models.
  • A passion for the game & entertainment industry with genuine interest and knowledge in the video games market(e)You will be the voice of our games to the players and partners in your markets, so some experience of speaking at public events is required along with the ability to empathize with the varied needs players and partners alike.
  • An out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to conceptualize broadly across various solutions, yet very efficient and diligent at a hands-on level.
  • Passionate, committed, self-starter with high levels of initiative, energy, ownership, urgency and a sincere willingness to learn from all team members at all levels.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to effectively engage with a wide variety of stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Able to work under pressure and find solutions to multiple and varying needs.
  • Passion for brands, communities, creativity and innovation.
  • Versatile project manager able to drill down into detail and clearly think through project timelines & interdependencies.
  • Outstanding written and oral skills, to build productive relationships.
  • Proactive and approachable personality that thrives in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ambitious and tenacious in nature, able to work autonomously when required and maintain a great sense of humor.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel as required.

 

 

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • MBA or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and leading comms campaigns.
  • Fluency in Mandarin a plus.
