As one of our Product UX Researchers, your primary responsibilities will include designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on qualitative and quantitative user-centered design research projects using a variety of methods.
A successful Senior UX Researcher will showcase a solid understanding of quantitative and qualitative research principles, an ability to distill large amounts of data into practical, actionable insights and a skill at helping non-researchers understand, participate in, and use research data to help them make objective, data-driven decisions with confidence.
You will
- Help develop the emerging UX Research and insights practice within the Product & Engineering group
- Serve as a member of a team that acts as a 'repository' of research-based user-centric knowledge
- Have a grasp of modern qualitative and quantitative research methods ranging from one-on-one interviews to unmoderated testing and drawing from web metrics/analytics to drive optimal business performance
- Conduct research in-lab, online and in the field and provide recommendations/opportunities for improvement/future considerations
- Have an interest and background in analytics to provide insight and a better understanding of user behavior to supplement further recommendations and identify design improvements
- Be an evangelist and teach others as part of a growing practice, supporting colleagues inside and outside of the team implementing their own evaluative research tools and methods
- Develop outcomes that will translate directly into business and product impact
- Effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and across peer business units
You are:
- Experienced in practicing UX research throughout lifecycle of product development – discovery, definition, design and/or optimization, ideally all four phases
- A passionate user advocate helping to translate visionary business needs into actionable insights through user research
- Able to work with project business representatives and team members from across the organization to test business requirements using objective user-centric data-driven methods
- Experienced in determining user needs by conducting task-focused analyses and working with Product Designers and Developers to test proposed function, look & feel initiatives
- Able to combine quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback into actionable improvements
- Understand how user types and segmentation can be used to influence and form the basis of in-depth user requirements, iterative product creations and the evaluation of those design solutions
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following research methods: moderated and unmoderated in-person and remote usability testing, ethnography, eye tracking, website intercepts, online surveys, card sorting, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and hierarchy testing, heuristic / expert evaluations and/or in-field research
- Familiarity with data-driven driven test and learn practices, a/b or multivariate testing tools such as Optimizely or Omniture would be considered an asset
- Comfortable working in an international global context, fluent in French and French culture and working proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing). Other languages would be considered an asset
Qualifications:
- 3 to 6 years conducting and/or leading user research, testing and influencing user experience design on consumer-facing products and services. Experience with heavy transactional products and within multi-disciplinary design teams would be an asset
- Experience working in a global international context performing user-centered research supporting enterprise or multi-channel service design and product development is preferred and would differentiate you as a candidat
- End-to-end, hands-on, “in-sourced” experience with a range of research techniques
- Track record of collaborating with diverse teams towards a common goal
- Effective verbal and written communication style and skill at distilling complex multi-method research and data from a variety of sources into understandable, compelling, and actionable insights
- Prefered but not required: degree or advanced certification in Human-computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or similar
