About the mission:

Team Mission:

You will be part of a new team with the mission of implementing from scratch a design system across all our platforms (web, iOS, Android)(e)As a member of this team, you will be responsible for creating UI libraries that will be our first step in order to give a fresher look and feel to all our applications(e)You will have a direct impact on the devs and designers' experience.

Main Responsibilities:

• Create easy-to-use, well-documented, and well-tested components that are performant, composable, and accessible.
• Contribute to the design system documentation, training material, and onboarding.
• Building a test framework that will facilitate the adoption and maintenance of components,
• Evangelize the design system adoption inside TheFork.
• Help detect visual regressions automatically following a library update.
• Work closely with designers to ensure design needs are balanced with technical feasibility.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as an Android software developer
• 1+ years of experience building or using a design system is a plus
• Strong communication skills to contribute to passionate discussions, and spread the word about the design system.
• Ability to work with distributed people in multiple time zones, and conduct argumentation asynchronously.
• Great knowledge of progressive enhancement, and responsive layout development best practices.
• Comfortable building high-impact and performant interfaces with Jetpack compose.
• Passionate about well-designed user experiences and the ability to perform an accurate implementation based on Figma prototypes.
• Naturally curious and thriving about knowledge sharing.
• Understanding the importance of testing, in order to provide secure and sustainable code.
