Linux System Engineer (Red Hat)

We are currently looking for a Linux (Red Hat) System Engineer to join our team in Strasbourg, France!

EU Citizenship is mandatory to be eligible for this position (work permit or blue card are not applicable).

Job requirements:

• Education: Bachelor or University degree in IT or equivalent by valid professional IT certifications in the domain of administration/operations of Linux systems.
• Red Hat RH-CSA certification 8.x or equivalent Linux certification (LPI, etc.)
• Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform Administration;
• VMware vSphere 7.0 and VMWare VSAN Administration;
• VMware Virtualization & Clustering;
• HPE Proliant and Synergy bladecenter;
• Nagios Core, nconf, Nagvis, Cacti, Net-Snmp, MariaDB, Grafana
• Network: Basic knowledge of firewalling, load-balancing, switching and routing;
• Security: IAM, PKI, mTLS, CIS hardening, VM encryption, Key Mgmt System
• DevOps: Git, Ansible, Bash, Python, Yaml, Perl
• Storage: SAN, Fibre channel, NFS, CEPH, S3 object storage;
• Proficiency in English
• Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and container orchestration is a plus
• Working experience in EU clients or other public institutions will be considered as a plus

Job responsibilities:

• Install and configure servers with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS and system components;
• Maintain and adapt the configuration of server software and system components lifecycle Management;
• Leverage Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform whenever and wherever possible;
• Design and implement Red Hat solutions
• Maintain and monitor the infrastructure: Incident resolution, Problem resolution;
• Troubleshooting, co-ordination with third party suppliers as well as with the central IT department of the customer;
• Advise the project team and eu-LISA in areas such as capacity management;
• Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management and other relevant tasks related to the role;
• Maintain the relevant documents/manuals describing the system and its infrastructure;
• Give training to eu-LISA 1^st and 2^nd line support about subject matters in scope;
• Provide input to organize and to hold knowledge transfer sessions;
• Participate in standby 7x24 (1 week per month);
• Provids input for Incidents/Problems/Defects post closure analysis to the LIA Incident/Problem Manager and/or the Technical Team Leader;
• Uses Vmware vSphere and vCenter knowledge and experience
• Hands-on knowledge about Red Hat Ceph Storage is a plus;
