Our ambition is to create games that will bring smiles and memories to millions, and to help us achieve this mission to create unique games and IP that’s why we are now looking for a Lead Game Artist.
As a Lead Game Artist in our amazing Paris Studio, you will have the opportunity to lead a young, multidisciplinary (3D / Animation / UI) and talented team, helping them evolve while maintaining the artistic vision for one of our new IPs(e)
You will work closely with the Game lead and design lead to deliver great content and shape the future of the game.
You are passionate about making and playing mobile games, with a great eye for detail and insight on the casual mobile games environment: Understanding trends, innovations, and the competition, constantly sharing this knowledge with your team.
In your role you are comfortable with the day to day management of your art team to make sure objectives are met and with doing hands-on work, producing amazing concept art, high quality asset benchmarks and documentation to support quality(e)
You will have great communication and interpersonal skills, guiding and encouraging your team to foster an environment of open feedback and constant improvement.
What will you do ?
- Owner of the long term artistic vision for the project, ensuring quality and consistency across the content updates.
- Creating key art assets, benchmarks and documentation to support your artistic vision.
- Planning, priorisation and managing the daily tasks of your team, ensuring that the objectives are met regarding quality, technical constraints and deadlinesGuide common agreement on art topics and foster innovative ideas from your team.
- Guiding pipeline conversations and being able to communicate clearly with other disciplines to ensure best results.
- Planning mid to long term needs of the team, and coordinating with studio leadership for new hires and relationships with external partners.
- Supporting the studio Art director with the performance and skill development on your team, identifying opportunities for improvement and setting them up for success.
- Be proactive on tackling art topics, motivating and inspiring your team(e)Benchmarking competitors mobile games for learning and sharing purposes
Madskills required
- At least 5 years in mobile video games development, with 2 in a leadership position.
- Expertise as a lead artist with at least one casual game launched, or varied portfolio of prototypes in mobile free to play games.
- Demonstrated high quality of delivery in 2D and/or 3D(e)We will favor applicants that can do both.
- Be able to lead by example, creating art that pushes the level of ambition for the game.
- Versatile art knowledge, able to guide 3D, 2D and UI artists to keep consistency and quality across the product
- Expertise in Photoshop and Blender/3dsMax/Maya
- Good knowledge of Unity - Good practices and pipeline improvements
- Professional level in english language and outstanding communication skills, ensuring discussions are fluid and structured inside and outside of the team.
