To support our growth, we’re now looking for a Head of Game Tech who will own and embody the technical vision and the strategy of the way we build Games and the tools around them(e)
He would be in charge of the Game Developers team, including some middle managers, but also the Game Automation team(e)The Game Automation team is the one in charge of creating and maintaining modules that are reused from one game to another but it’s also in charge of setting up a proper Build Pipeline for our games to reach the stores.

This is a very central role in the company as you would be the career referee for our Game Developers team (around 15 people) and our Game Automation team (around 3 people and growing)(e)As a Head of Game Tech, you would be involved in all our Game Developments to define the technical strategies we want to put in place with the game : what should be done quickly, what should be done properly, etc…
When it’s been decided that something should be done properly, the Head of Game Tech would also be the one sitting with the Tech Leads of each game to coach them on how to build a clean game architecture that would make it less error prone and flexible enough to reduce the need of refactoring.

What will you do ?

  • Manage and coach the Game Developers, the Game Automation Developers and the Build Automation Developers.
  • Hire and structure the Technical teams to achieve the company vision.
  • Define the technical strategy for each game, along with the Tech Lead of that game.
  • Discuss with our Game Manager to understand their needs and make sure that our Tech Stack can support them.
  • Define the roadmap for the Game Automation team so it matches the needs of the production.
  • Define the roadmap for the Build Automation team so it matches the needs of the production.
  • When needed, as a last resort, contribute to strategic projects when we don’t have enough firepower.

Madskills required

  • At least 3-years experience in managing a team
  • At least 6 years experience in games development in C# and Unity
  • Ability to challenge a project architecture and push it to be robust and maintainable.
  • Propose an adapted architecture that fits the expected velocity of the project.
  • Efficient at problem solving game and automation challenges.
  • Strong experience managing and coaching a team of developers.
  • Knowledge about Backend development for online games is a nice to have.
  • Knowledge about CI for games is a nice to have.

  • Capacity of balancing quick prototyping and building solid tech foundations.
  • Capacity of designing tech roadmaps that avoid having too many refactors but still aim at producing frequent releases to get frequent answers about our products.
  • Willingness to have a 360° role that would impact the entire company.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interest in video games and more generally in tech.
  • Having a « gamer sense feel » : being able to feel and push the product to improve the final gameplay experience.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • A team player with a positive and humble attitude.
