To sustain the company's growth, Ledger is looking for a new talent, to work on Engineering team management, evolution & performance.
Joining our Android team, you’ll participate in building and customizing the Android operating system to power a new kind of device allowing users to securely manage their digital assets(e)Doing so, you’ll dive into the Android OS, develop launcher applications on one side, but will also work closely with firmware and hardware engineers to create this new generation of products.
Missions :
- A key contributor of our Android development team, whose mission will be the customization of the Android OS on Ledger hardware devices
- Hands-on, spearheading development and actively building this new product line from a software perspective
- Collaborating with other tech and product teams (Ledger Live, Firmware and Hardware) to build an brand new outstanding experience
- Never compromising on security, quality and performance applying good practices at all development stages, understanding that the “how” is as important as the “what”
- Works effectively and respects and improves team practices: pairing, reviews, coding conventions, etc.
- Contributes with creative and effective solutions at own level and helps other develop effective solutions
- Pushes and assists in resolving issues and problems across the team
- Deliver tasks that they commit to in a timely fashion, helps other model their own work in an efficient delivery system
- Help recruit and scale the engineering team with top talents from the industry
- Actively mentors more junior team members
- Drives the adoption of good practicesDrives consensus on technical solutions and is lending support to initiatives others are driving
- Takes ownership of team topics and brings them to completion (driving discussions, consensus and collaboration)
- Communicates effectively and openly with others, at team level (colleagues, manager) and across teams - when help is needed, when an issue arises impacting delivery, etc.
Knowledge & Experience :
- Engineering degree
- Experience in Android application development, tools and SDKs, good knowledge of Kotlin or Java
- Knowledge of UI/UX practices in Android
- Knowledge of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and experience developing in Java/C++
- Ability to organize modifications to system applications and to the framework itself
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience recruiting fellow engineers
- Experience working in engineering teams and familiar with good practices (e.g(e)unit testing, CI/CD)
Nice to have :
- Knowledge of Electron / React, the stack used by Ledger Live
- Knowledge in Hardware/Firmware development, to help drive interactions with our hardware products
- Experience on tech stacks used by our backend team (Scala, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of Blockchain/cryptocurrency area
- Knowledge of cryptography and security
