Your Key Areas of Focus:

We are seeking dedicated, analytical candidates with a proven track record of performance to be part of a centralized regulatory Compliance Team for a fast-growing Money Services Business (MSB)(e)As an international remittance company, Sendwave is subject to many regulatory requirements to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing(e)As such, Sendwave must conduct investigations and due diligence research on users and transaction activity that seem potentially suspicious(e)The AML Compliance Team conducts necessary investigations while maintaining a positive experience for our legitimate users(e)Positions on our Team rely on thoroughness, curiosity, and excellent judgment to accomplish that objective while working under limited managerial supervision.

Responsibilities & Expectations for Compliance Team Leads:

  • Coach team members to support their success(e)Diagnose blockages, facilitate technical support, escalate necessary requests, encourage learning/training, and support morale to maximize the likelihood of the team’s success in achieving their qualitative and quantitative goals.
  • Schedule, conduct, and document regular (usually monthly) 1-on-1 meetings with team members.
  • Schedule, conduct, prepare for and take notes during regular team-wide meetings.
  • Serve as primary point-of-contact for assigned team members’ questions and concerns.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for Specialist team members.
  • Check-in with, or actually shadow team members as you feel necessary and appropriate to support their success.
  • Draft and implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as necessary.
  • Schedule and approve/disapprove team member time-off requests (while ensuring adequate resource capacity).
  • Support our recruitment process by planning, conducting, and reviewing candidate interviews(e)Recommend candidates for hire and for rejection.
  • Attend weekly compliance leadership meetings, other ad hoc and compliance meetings as necessary.
  • Scope, plan, initiate, and lead process improvement projects to increase teamwork quality, production, morale, etc.
  • Other projects as assigned by AML Compliance Manager.

As the AML Transaction Monitoring Team Lead, you will:

  • Lead a team of AML Transaction Monitoring Specialists, who review systemically/automatically-generated AML alerts, looking for potentially suspicious financial activity(e)These Specialists:
    • Gather, analyze and synthesize customer due-diligence information to evaluate the expected activity and whether the customer and/or transaction activity is suspicious.
    • Collect, evaluate and organize evidence and documents to support your determinations.
    • Articulate and support findings, such as recommendations to block users for suspicious activity, or recommendations to clear users upon determining root causes of transaction activity are legitimate.
    • When necessary, establish rapport with Sendwave customers, explain compliance requirements and elaborate on Terms & Conditions.
  • Maintain quantitative and qualitative team-wide targeted rates of AML alert review and decisioning.
  • Establish, implement and maintain quality assurance (“QA”) standards by executing QC protocols on a periodic and ongoing basis(e)Provide feedback as appropriate.
  • Ensure thorough and timely resolution of AML alerts to maintain established SLAs, including average resolution timeframes and quality standards.
  • Report on the team, and on individual team members, performance, progress, and challenges(e)Establish and implement action plans as necessary.
  • Maintain at least one AML/CFT certification.

As the Compliance Due Diligence Team Lead, you will:

  • Lead a team of one or more KYB & Due Diligence Analyst(s) (in addition to the AML Transaction Monitoring Specialists), who gather, analyze, verify and evaluate due diligence information, primarily regarding SW business customers and vendor partners.
    • Gather, analyze and synthesize due diligence information to evaluate the risk profile of SW customers and partners.
    • Collect, evaluate and organize evidence and documents to support your determinations.
    • Articulate and support findings, such as recommendations to block users, or recommendations for additional information and/or reviews.
    • When necessary, establish rapport with Sendwave customers, explain compliance requirements and elaborate on Terms & Conditions.
  • Maintain quantitative and qualitative team-wide targeted rates of due diligence processing.
  • Establish, implement and maintain quality assurance (“QA”) standards by executing QC protocols on a periodic and ongoing basis(e)Provide feedback as appropriate.
