Main responsibilities:
As a Data Science, you’ll be part of <vpTech/> and the Data Science department along with 15 other colleagues.
One of the two teams in Data Science at Veepee is the Forecasting team, composed of 7 members spread between Brussels, Paris and Barcelona(e)The team is fully cloud-native, working with Google Cloud Platform products such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Kubernetes, Bigtable, etc.
One of the Forecasting team’s responsibilities is the ranking of products on the Veepee webshops(e)That algorithm has been in production for two years, with a notable exception: at this stage, it ranks individual products but is incapable of ranking groups of products(e)Indeed, sometimes products need to be shown side-by-side, such as bedsheets and a pillowcase, or parts of a lingerie set, when they belong to the same collection.
Your mission will be to identify groups of products using text and/or image techniques, and adapt the existing algorithms to be able to rank them together with individual products(e)In a second step, you will deploy the algorithm in production and A/B test it in order to compare performance with a manual ranking approach.
The requirements
- Python
- SQL
- Knowledge in machine learning (Regression, Classification, NLP, Image techniques,...)
- Interest in software development
- Experience with Git, Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Good communicator, fluent in English
- Strong ability to identify, analyse and solve problems
- Be autonomous and resourceful
- Be eager to learn new technologies and put projects into production
