About the job

We have a massive opportunity to rethink the way our financial stack works! From enabling the business (both on customers and sellers sides) to scale our product and industrialize a lot of processes, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager to own, define and develop the Back Market financial experience. Starting with one feature team, you will grow the scope to reach the ambitions of Back Market: the scope is expected to represent up to 3 feature teams in +18-months covering the core part of our financial stack (Money Ledger), the invoicing features (Sellers and Customers Services Invoicing) and the internal tooling/automation (Accounting Tool).The scope of this role is very broad, with high visibility and complete autonomy on the scope(e)It requires a blend of technical & functional expertise, data fluency, user understanding, and financial acumen.

You’ll be responsible for:

Developing the best financial experience: from reconciliation (payin and payout) to business features (Swap, FX Change Management, Business Landing…), in 16 operating countries so far
Building and monitoring our key performance indicators, define targeted increments
Working hand in hand with your engineering counterpart to make sure we have reliable and yet ambitious roadmaps, with the expected level of delivery quality
Drafting the financial Product Vision of Back Market: driving the change in both customers and sellers habits towards circular economy, partnering with many stakeholders and in particular the Finance Team (FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Payment)
Managing and leading your own team at first and then (in the next +18-months) recruiting, growing and coaching a team of product managers, making sure the product scopes are well defined and anticipating the growth and needs of the company
Animating and participating in the life of the Product Team, helping define the best ways of working, managing dependencies and reflecting on the needs of a scaling organization

You're perfect for this role if:

You have a strong PM experience working on financial/data related issues - bonus points if you already have experience in the marketplace and/or fintech sectors (payment service provider, neo-bank etc.)
You are able to shape product discovery and delivery according to lean/agile principles - bonus points if you are comfortable to handle large datasets (by using Excel, SQL or whatever: if not, it’s not a problem as we provide trainings but at least you are willing to learn)
You can couple your strong business sense with a broad understanding of methodologies related to payment lifecycle (authorization, capture, settlement, refund, cancel etc;) and financial topics (tax regulations for marketplaces, reconciliation of transactions vs(e)reconciliation of balances, double-entry bookkeeping system) to understand complex problems and bring clarity to engineers and stakeholders
You are a team player, and know how to use soft power to embark people with you
You are able to provide sharp and engaging communication to all levels of stakeholders, including the top management
