Data is a Core component of TheFork strategy. In the company we leverage our data to transform our business and to provide compelling experiences to our customers.

 

For that purpose, TheFork data team was created 3 years ago as a central team supporting all business functions of the company and with the main mission being to accelerate the business thanks to data.

As data needs are growing, a new organizational model has just been implemented to support the expected scaling and leveling-up of Team Impact(e)The team has shifted from a skill-oriented model (with team organized around expert-units: Insights, product analytics, BI, etc) to a matricial-model with expertises being regrouped and coordinated into cross-skills taskforces focused on specific business domains.

 

Expected impact from the role

 

As the Associate director of Insights & Analytics, you will be responsible for the Insights & Analytics field of expertises and you will ensure that we leverage them to maximize the business impact delivered by the data team.

 

You will closely work with the TheFork executive team and Business leaders to ensure that the team successfully executes on its mission and vision(e)Especially to provide top-level insights and analytics capabilities which will allow Business teams to accelerate strategies by implementing well data-informed decisions.

 

You will manage our team of skilled and action-oriented data analysts, lead and promote our data-focused culture, and act as a key stakeholder in enhancing the leverage of data for business acceleration.

This position reports to the Chief Data Officer, himself reporting to the CEO(e)This role is expected to have a high impact on the organization.

 

Concretely, thanks to your role, we expect that in 18 month, we can consider that: 

 

  • We have brought our Business knowledge and monitoring capabilities to the next level (business performance, customer patterns and behaviors, dynamics of our marketplace(s), competition landscape, etc) with an incremental level of understanding and actionability that helps us make a difference in our industry.
  • If answers are not available off-the-shelves, key questions can be addressed easily and quickly thanks to our assets and the agility of our team
  • Our Data analysts has developed their next level of common practices and methodologies that make them deliver as one team and with highest level of impact every day
  • We can anticipate more on how data can accelerate the Business: we have a projected view of the data and insights we will need to develop, which leads us to trigger the right data sourcing initiatives



Expectations from the Role

 

Under your leadership, the team of data analysts will be responsible for uncovering insights that explain business performance and/or drive the business forward, and influence internal stakeholders.

 

Your role will be to:

 

  • Globally, align the strategy for the Insights & Analytics teams with the company business strategy with a focus on creating partner value and partner with Business teams to establish a long-term roadmap for providing them with deep business intelligence
  • Ensure that we bring the Business data leveraging to the next level:
    • Level-up Analysis and actionable insights generation skills, methodologies & tools so that any business question is addressed in the smartest way (efficiently delivered and with the best level of insights)
    • Ensure that our Business teams are equipped with the best level of data, insights & tools to monitoring, understand and accelerate their strategies
    • Develop standards with the team to ensure permanent level-up of quality of delivery 
  • Grow your team:
    • ²Create opportunities for team skill development & career progression, including practical training in consultative skills, analyst workflows, and technology platforms
    • Support the efficiency of our data operating model
  • Develop standards with and for the team and a coherent approach to intake and prioritization.
  • Support our Data Domains in aligning and balancing the demands of competing business leaders ensuring that we're spending resources on the top priorities for the business vs(e)nice-to-have analyses(e)Bring a practical bent to analytic problem solving, identifying the most efficient solution to complex reporting challenges.
  • Create connectivity to the other Data teams (especially data engineering and BI so that there's a shared understanding of what data needs to be added to our Data Platform and in what formats in order to make the data ready for business requirements)
  • Contribute to the Data team mission to improve data quality, integrity, accuracy, and utility



You will be part of the Data Team leadership team

You will liaise with key business stakeholders to support the development of a strong partnership relationship with them.

You will play a key role in the design of our BI team's roadmap so that we speed-up the transformation and consolidation of our monitoring equipment.

Your scope of your role may evolve and be adjusted depending on your expertise and background

 

Your background and skills: 

  • You have end-to-end thinking and have impact at scale
      • You have the ability to work with senior/executive leadership on data priorities(e)Creating end-to-end views of the business that enable deeper understanding of customer experience and business performance.
      • You are highly collaborative and able to operate via influence in a matrix organization ; you are able to prioritize conflicting demands; able to prioritize large number of requests/requirements from diverse group of end-users; able to set expectations to broad group of internal clients
      • Able to think big-picture about business intelligence analytics and visualization, linking many different teams' data
  • Your drive your boat to destination:
      • You are a motivating leader that is able to select and focus on high-impact, complex data projects(e)You have extensive experience on delivering complex, cross-departmental analytics projects on time, monitoring the accuracy of the data, driving adoption and measuring impact to business in Platform business.
      • You demonstrate strong leadership skills and are able to bring others along
  • You demonstrate delivery excellence
      • You have 10+ years of experience in the fields of data analysis and data transformation
      • Proven track-record in Data Analysis: you are able to structure and drive complex analysis towards actionable outcomes
      • You are able to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply, verbally and in written form
      • Consulting background is a strong plus (you bring structure in what you do ; you are action oriented ; you constantly think about how to improve / drive change within your organization)
      • Ability to increase velocity of delivering insights without sacrificing quality.
  • You are open-minded and work on bringing the best market practices within your scope 
    • You are curious and future focused
    • Data science knowledge (modeling techniques to support insights generation and design of actionable data products) is a strong plus
