Contentsquare currently has high ambitions to be a fully data-driven company and become the worldwide leader in our domain(e)To do so, we need the best-in-class people to join this adventure and bring their motivation(e)As a Data Engineer for the Business Intelligence team, you will be at the core of data-value creation and top-management decisions for Contentsquare.
In the Business Intelligence team (BI), our motto is “Innovate Together”(e)We expect every team member to constantly suggest ways to improve and challenge the status quo, whether through new DB managements, ELTs, data tools, infrastructures, data models, scripts, platforms dev-ops management, etc(e)This fits perfectly with the mindset of the company which is young and very dynamic.
Attached to the Operations department, the role of a BI Data Engineer is a hybrid one, mixing two different sets of skills: technical & strategic(e)Overall, this position at Contentsquare is a unique one: you get to be part of impactful projects while developing strong expertise in technologies and data in general.
On a typical day, you might:
- Own the Data Platform (Lake/Warehouse, Cloud, Tools) and all related assets.
- Deliver technical solutions to business & data challenges coming from the different teams of the company(e)A strategic & analytical mindset is required.
- Manage & upgrade the whole data chain from the definition of the Information System to the production of tools, going through the conception of data models, ELTs, infrastructures, etc(e)Technical skills are required.
- Put in place many new BI environments & improvements that are not yet implemented(e)An explorer & entrepreneur mindset is required.
- A “client-facing” appetite with strong communication skills is also recommended.
A few examples of projects related to BI Engineers at CS:
- POC of new Data Platform technologies
- POC of a new Scheduler (or evolution of the current one)
- Find a better way to execute our data computations ie Market Solutions or Custom Implementations (Spark, Scala, Python, …)
- Implement mutualized assets usable by the whole BI Team (ELT, Data Quality, …)
- Continue supporting & delivering for the legacy while the reforge is happening
Mandatory: we need to meet someone who:
- Adapts quickly and always ready to learn new technologies
- Can speak and write fluent professional English & French(e)You have a strong communication skill
- Has a first successful experience in managing a full technical data ecosystem
- Has a logical, analytical & pragmatic mind
- Is a proactive team player and an autonomous problem solver / solution finder(e)You won't stop digging until you find the right solution.
- Is able to handle complex platforms and data-related projects.
- Can work fast and handle tight deadlines
- Can coordinate multiple stakeholders to define the needs, batches, and deliverables of your projects.
- Technical skills necessary: SQLPython (Spark is a plus); Data Lake/Warehousing Management; ELTs (“Extract Load Transform”) => EL tools & T tools; Platforms & infrastructures; Schedulers / automations
Very nice-to-have:
- AWS and/or GCP deep knowledge
- Experience in Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar
- Experience in distributed computing
- Experience in one of the main Data Integration solutions in the market (Talend, Informatica, …)

- Contract type: full-term / “CDI”
- Start date: Monday 4th of April 2022 (maximum)
- Location: Paris, Saint-Lazare
- Salary: depending on level & experiences
