The Data team at Swile is responsible for monetizing data assets. We do this in a number of ways such as by enabling better decision making, improving operations and efficiencies, measurably reducing risk, building data products, and more.
To achieve this we have a multidisciplinary team composed of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Analysts covering the entire data value chain from data ingestion to data exploitation.
Data Engineers are the Bridge between Internal/External data sources and any team looking to make data-driven decisions(e)We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer.
At Swile we have invested in a modern data stack (Redshift, Stitch, Airflow, Looker, Metabase) to support us in our mission(e)And we are always ready to embrace new technologies that can help us do that better.

Here's the Data stack in place today:
- Extraction/Load: Stitch / Airflow
- Storage: AWS S3 / Redshift / Snowflake
- Transformation: DBT
- BI: Looker / Metabase
- Collaboration: Github

Your role: 
In charge of transforming the company in depth, by putting data at the heart of decision making(e)The Data Director will continue to build the data team, to make it a world-class data organization, from data source collection to strategic analysis, business reporting & statistical studies for all teams(e)As a data evangelist, the Data Director will also be in charge of establishing a data culture across all teams.

Your mission ?:
Embody the role of Data Evangelist with impact and leadershipDrive Swile’s transformation into a more data-driven companyBuild the vision and strategy to reach a fully efficient data organization by EoY.Create a strong climate of trust and transparency with engineering teams (as pairs) and business teams (as stakeholders).Hire and manage a centralized data team.Build and share data roadmaps with all teams.Ensure roadmaps are correctly followed by data teams (by remaining pragmatic and flexible).

The ideal candidate to join the Data team is… ?

  • Experienced as Manager of a data teamSQL expert
  • Comfortable in Python with an excellent understanding of data architecture
  • A specialist of at least one Dataviz tool (Tableau, Periscope…) and ETL (Talent, Mulesoft)
  • Excellent communication and ability to convey complex topics in a simple way
  • Expert on Project Management 
  • Fluent in English and French

Recruitment process ?

  • Video interview: 30-45 minutes
  • Hiring manager interview: 60min with evaluation of soft/hard skills, teamfit, background, team/job information)
  • Business Case: A live simulation
  • Swilers interview: 45 minutes / During this stage all our Swilers can be called in and contribute to a skills assessment of candidates (focus on culture and values)(e)Interviewers will be able to meet candidates without cognitive bias and have constructive feedback on their interpersonal skills and know-how(e)Involving all of our employees in the success of our hiring process is an integral part of our culture and values
  • Final Round: 60 minutes

  • Our hiring process lasts on average about 2 weeks and offers usually come within 24 hours.
