Position Overview 

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator provides support for activities including digital communications, e-mail marketing, content development and marketing, and events planning, and is an integral and important contributor to BSR’s Global Communications and Marketing team.  

The Coordinator reports to BSR’s Manager for Editorial and Campaign Strategy but engages with MarComms staff and other colleagues across the organization on a variety of key communications and marketing priorities(e)

Responsibilities 

Content Marketing & Editorial 

  • Support Editorial and Campaign Strategy Manager, and Website Content Associate with project management, coordination of editorial and marketing calendar, and tracking progress and monitoring deadlines for all deliverables.  
  • Support the production of BSR email blasts, event invitations, newsletters, other email marketing, by setting up distributions, building lists; track and provide visibility on open-rates, click-thru rates, etc.  
  • In collaboration with Senior Developer and Creative Design Manager, support production of BSR website content and case studies; curate regular updates of BSR websites (publishing and proofreading blogs, event listings, etc.)(e)This includes photo research, selection, and editing.  
  • Collaborate with Website Content Associate and Senior Developer to manage our marketing automation tool (Pardot) and maintain our customer database in Salesforce for marketing purposes (build marketing lists, set up event registration, manage opt-in/opt-outs, provide engagement dashboards to staff, etc.) 
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing automation activities (nurture campaigns, lead qualification, lead generation, etc.)  

Events & Event Marketing  

  • Support Global Events Manager in the execution of BSR global webinars, and in-person events in various European locations such as Paris, London, Copenhagen, etc.  Event support likely will not require travel but need/opportunity to travel may arise from time-to-time. 
  • Support Global Events manager in project managing events, including: logistical support (including remote logistics i.e., Zoom webinar set-up), managing event registrations, database management in Salesforce, setting up event listings, newsletter and direct e-mail promotion, day-of logistical support, and other needs as they arise 
  • Support Global Events manager in production of any deliverables associated with external event cross-marketing partnerships (i.e., scheduling social media posts, website event listings, etc.) 

Media and social media  

  • Provide support to PR and Media Manager during media outreach campaigns in Europe, notably on building media contact lists
  • Coordinate Digital and Social Media Manager as needed (i.e., live tweeting, identifying content, running Twitter/LinkedIn channels when back-up is needed)
  • Track, post and report on earned media hits

Administrative 

  • Process vendor contracts and invoices and project manage any payments, etc. 
  • Draft and circulate agendas for and take notes for weekly Global Communications Team meetings
  • Manage updates to staff bios 
  • Manage subscriptions 

Qualifications 

  • B.A(e)in Marketing/Communication/Journalism or equivalent years of experience
  • 1 or more years communications or marketing with a company, nonprofit, or global organization preferred 
  • Fluent in English, with superior written and verbal communication, writing, and editing/proofreading skills 
  • Knowledge of and experience using marketing automation and CRM tools (Pardot and Salesforce) strongly preferred  
  • Knowledge of and experience in basic HTML and/or CMS systems for website content management
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to deliver on simultaneous projects in multiple locations and/or languages 
  • Knowledge of and experience working on issues related to sustainability/corporate social responsibility would be a plus 
  • Highly organized and very detail oriented 
  • Strong initiative, with a “can do” approach 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Skills in Photoshop and inDesign a plus 
  • Capacity to work and thrive in a growing, fast-paced entrepreneurial organization with a collaborative environment 
  • Desire to pursue a career in marketing and communications
