The position
Sunday is seeking an Accounting & Tax Manager to join our growing Finance team(e)You will partner with the Finance Director and our external accounting teams and will oversee Accounting & Tax for Sunday in Europe(e)You will work closely with Finance Managers, external accountants and the rest of the Finance team(e)For this role, you will drive the accounting and tax of Sunday’s European entities(e)You will be responsible for the production of Sunday’s monthly statements and quarterly / yearly closures, working hand in hand with external accountants in the first place, before building an in-house accounting team down the road(e)You will also be in charge of coordinating consolidated accounts across all European entities, liaising with your US counterpart for group consolidation purposes(e)Your job will also involve being responsible for taxes management and optimization(e)Last but not least, you will be in charge of setting up our internal accounting processes and controlling mechanisms.
This opportunity can be based in Paris, Madrid, or London(e)The role reports to the Finance Director – Europe(e)You must be fluent in English and preferably speak fluent French.
Required experience & responsibilities
- 4-5 years of work experience at a top-tier firm in accounting; plus: 1-2 years of experience within an accounting department in a corporate environment (ideally with international exposure)
- Ability to manage external or internal accountants and drive all aspects of Accounting & Tax for European entities (establishing all financial statements, consolidating books, controlling, managing taxes)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills: solid background in accounting is a must, tax background is a strong plus
- Extensive familiarity with preparing monthly & yearly accounting books and financial statements in US GAAP
- Proficiency in building and handling financial statements and consolidation reporting
- Familiarity with corporate tax mechanisms and optimization processes
- Sound business judgment and ability to communicate clearly
- Proactive and self-motivated to solve problems; comfortable with a high degree of responsibility and handling complex questions
- Experience with Fintech and/or payment processing industry a plus
